Device ROI checklist
Before you sign, make sure the investment fits your clients, your diary and your numbers.
1. Get the full investment figure
Request a written quote including VAT, delivery, installation, training, consumables and servicing. Check finance interest and exit terms separately.
2. Check who can deliver treatments
Confirm qualifications, insurance, supplier training, safety protocols and any local requirements before buying.
3. Match the device to your clients
Identify suitable existing clients, treatment indications and contraindications. Interest is not the same as a paid booking.
4. Set a realistic treatment price
Compare local pricing and account for introductory offers, packages and discounts rather than using the highest advertised price.
5. Know your cost per treatment
Include consumables, practitioner time, payment fees and any treatment-specific costs. Do not mistake turnover for profit.
6. Forecast treatments, not enquiries
Estimate completed, paid treatments per month. Consider repeat courses, no-shows, seasonal demand and available diary space.
7. Calculate break-even
Divide device cost by monthly treatment contribution: (treatment price minus treatment running cost) multiplied by completed treatments per month.
8. Stress-test your numbers
Try lower demand and higher running costs. Plan for a slower launch and check whether the clinic can cover repayments.
9. Plan your launch and client journey
Budget for marketing, consultation, consent, aftercare and rebooking. Only recommend skincare or complementary treatments when appropriate.
10. Check support and review performance
Ask about warranty, maintenance, downtime, supplier support and evidence. Track bookings, costs and contribution monthly after launch.
General planning guidance, not financial or clinical advice. Estimates are not guarantees; confirm costs and suitability with qualified advisers and suppliers.
